JOHAN ‘SWANNIE’ SWANEVELDER is an alchemist. He has the potent ability to change objects as idiosyncratic and evocative, but also as commonplace, as a pair of socks, into sensate beings that can tell beautiful stories of great wisdom, humour and love. This Saturday, the National Children’s Theatre presents a filmed version of veteran puppeteer Swanevelder’s The Adventures of Manie the Ant. Seen by My View in June of 2018, the work is a true delight and will keep your little one focused on what happens next – and above all, on what matters. Simply follow the ‘event’ link on the theatre’s facebook page and from the snugly comfort of your own home, you too can share in the experience of this lovely gem of children’s theatre.
