GOLDEN couple: Sophie Okonedo is Cleopatra and her Antony is Ralph Fiennes in Simon Godwin’s production of Antony and Cleopatra. Photograph courtesy IMDb.
IF YOU FEEL you deserve something so rich and evolved, something so sophisticated and delicious on the senses, this evening or any time until Wednesday 13 May, don’t lean toward the fridge or the online hot food delivery business. Don’t get despondent that you can’t go and frolic with others in the world. Rather open up the National Theatre Live at Home’s youtube channel. The work this week on offer for free is Simon Godwin’s magnificent direction of Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra with Sophie Okonedo and Ralph Fiennes as the golden couple. This is what My View thought of this work, last January.
